Mailshot and email campaign copywriting that gets a response
Approaching your market directly can work brilliantly, but only if the words grab attention and hold it. I write anything from a single mailshot to a complete campaign, by email or by post, built around the response you want.
Why it matters
A mailshot lands in the same place as everything else competing for your reader’s attention: an overflowing inbox or a doormat full of leaflets. You have a moment to make them want to read on, and a little longer to make them act.
That’s why every mailshot starts with one clear purpose. A booking, a call, a visit, a sign-up: whatever it is, everything in the piece, from the subject line to the last sentence, should lead the reader there.
A campaign takes that further, with a short sequence of messages that builds interest step by step rather than asking for everything at once. I’ll plan the sequence with you and write each message so it works on its own and as part of the whole.
A taste.
What it could sound like
The opening of an email for an imaginary local gym launching early-morning classes:
Subject line and opening
Subject: Done by 7.30, coffee by 8. You keep meaning to fit exercise in before work. From next month, our 6.45am classes mean you can, with showers, a towel waiting for you and a coffee on the way out. Your first week is on us.

How it works
-
We talk
About your business, your customers and what this piece of writing needs to achieve.
-
I research
Your sector, your competitors and what your readers are looking for.
-
I write
A first draft in your voice, put through Blatchley’s Law before you see it.
-
We refine
Your comments go in until you’re happy to put your name to every word.
Questions about mailshots and campaigns
Anything else, just ask.
Do you write for email or for post?
Both. The principles are similar, but printed mail has to work harder to get opened at all, and I write each one for how it will arrive.
Can you write a whole campaign?
Yes. I can plan a sequence with you, decide what each message needs to achieve, and write them all so they build on each other.
Can you send the campaign as well?
I write the content. Sending and managing the campaign can be arranged as a separate job, or handed to your marketing team.
Let’s start.
Tell me what you have in mind
A rough idea is plenty. Tell me about your business and what you’d like this writing to do, and I’ll come back with honest thoughts and a quote.
